Rooms and Rates

Let's explore the rooms of the Milam Home together. First let me introduce myself, I
am Jenny Watts, known as Ms. Jenny and Bunk, my husband, moved me and my
children into this house in 1920 when the Trinity River flooded. He was an overseer of
the Cochran Plantation at that time. I've been here a long, long time. After "passing on",
I watched over my grandchildren and then the Warren children that grew up in this
house. It seems a school teachers work is never done!

Come on, and let me show you around...

Book all four rooms and the Watts or Daisy Room is FREE!!

Watt's RoomThe Watt's Room

The first room to the left was the gathering place for our family, so it is named the "Watts Room". Now a bedroom, it is decorated in English hunting scenes and the ceiling has been restored to the original wood. A luxurious antique, cradle tub soaks away your tensions. Settle into a night of guaranteed comfort in the queen-size bed. That Warren girl has put feather mattress toppers, soft sheets and a feather comforter in beautiful duvets on all of the beds. A little extravagant don't you think? We always saved our money for hard times. Who knows - there might be a depression one day!

$114/night

Daisy's RoomDaisy's Room

Gliding to the second bedroom on the left, brings back lots of memories. Little VB and Noreen had many dinners here with us as this was originally the dining room. I'll have to give that Warren girl credit though, for the bed in this room is wonderfully comfortable and gives you a hug as you climb in. A restored shower/bath completes this cozy room that has been accented by the molding and border wallpaper around the ceiling.

Warren RoomThe Warren Room

Float across the dining room to the Warren Room, the bedroom on the right side with its own entrance from the porch. This was actually VB and Noreen's bedroom in the 20's, but also holds many fond memories for the Warren family. I watched them spend many a Christmas and other family gatherings here. The focal point in this room is the luxurious, tall, queen-size bed. A large bath/shower as well as a hall filled with books, make this a popular room.

$124/night

Noreen's SuiteNoreen's Suite

Soar with me outside and lets glide up the stairs to what once was my daughter's living quarters that Bunk had built specifically for Noreen and her son. That Warren girl knocked out some walls, (who does she think she is anyway - doesn't she know I'm still around?) and made this into a two bedroom suite, with queen and full beds.  The main bedroom has a sitting area with a cable TV/VCR that overlooks and opens onto a private porch with rockers and swings. The bathroom is the real showpiece of this suite. It has the original wooden walls and wooden floors and a double Jacuzzi that will massage tensions away. The added privacy of being away from the main house makes this suite a favorite for a romantic getaway, but is also great for a family or group of four.

$146/night
additional adults $20 each
